E-Newsletters

Minneapolis St. Paul Host Committee RNC

Who:

The Minneapolis St. Paul Host Committee for the 2008 Republican National Convention

Goal:

To develop an e-newsletter information campaign, based off of the look and feel of the website, to be distributed to the incoming delegates, their staff and other attendees who signed up for the e-newsletter.

I was asked to create an email newsletter for the Minneapolis - St. Paul Host Committee. The goal was to send a visually appealing and informative e-newsletter that matched the Host Committee website and of course had a high deliverability rate. Our team did not create the website, so some investigation was needed to search the source code for the right elements to incorporate into the e-newsletter. The e-newsletter was a hit. I ensured that it passed cross browser tests, fifteen different email clients and a spam check before I passed off the template to their internal team to for the massive mailings.

Finley - Communique

Who:

Finley Engineering Inc. - Telecom Division

Goal:

Create an internally distributed e-newsletter teaser to enhance awareness of new and ongoing projects within the Telecom division.

Finley Engineering Inc. is a worldwide company that focuses on engineering solutions for the telecom and power industries. Shortly after the retirement of their founder, the new CEO initiated a new set of outreach communication pieces. The Communique was devised to cover the telecom industry market. A printed newsletter was mailed and I designed a follow up teaser email newsletter which can be signed up for on the Finley homepage.

Who:

Finley Engineering Inc. - Power Division

Goal:

Create an internally distributed e-newsletter teaser to enhance awareness of new and ongoing projects within the Power division.

Following the same line as the Communique, The Grid was devised to cover the power industry market. Likewise, there is a printed newsletter which is mailed and I designed a follow up teaser email newsletter. Both emails share the same design features as each other and their respective mailed newsletters. These designs are part of an overall re-branding process for Finely Engineering.

Almond Board of California

Who:

The Almond Board of California

Goal:

Create an online newsletter as a supplement to the printed newsletter.

The Almond Board of California has a four page newsletter printed every month and they quickly found themselves running out of room. With the need to include many longer stories, I developed a rudimentary online newsletter to fill that need. Prior to this project, I had mainly only scripted news release emails that require very little code. It was a challenge on how to include upwards of eight typed pages of stories into a single navigation friendly webpage. I decided to try using sliding div's with AJAX as my script source. Not bad for the first try as a self-taught novice.

Who:

The Progressive Agriculture Foundation

Goal:

Create an email ready press release template that will pass all varieties of distribution.

Similar to the same idea as the Hubbard news release, simplicity is key for maximum distribution. Progressive Agriculture Foundation is a pro-bono not-for-profit client who had several key industry sponsors. We designed and sent press releases for our client as part of a thank you service to their sponsors. Promotion of good will works has become a major incentive for several industries and we were happy to do our share.

Who:

Minnesota Green Landscaping, Inc.

Goal:

Create a functional and attractive website for a local company under creative direction with the concept, art-files and photography being provided.

In May 2008 I was contracted to translate several Illustrator files into a functional website for a local landscaping company. A few weeks later the website was live and to the exact specs provided by the client. In time I hope to continue to add new photos of recent projects and add additions to the website. For this project I did keyword research to mark the most effecient keywords to use for search engine optimization without using a paid service.
